2021 Virtual Comprehensive Community Planning (CCP) Workshop

October 13,14, and 15, 2021

9:00am - 12:30pm

Pre-workshop sessions: October 12, 2021

12:00pm - 1:30pm

We are thrilled to invite you to the 2021 BC Region Virtual CCP Workshop! Co-presented by the CCP Mentorship Initiative and Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), the CCP Workshop will take place on the mornings of October 13, 14, and 15, 2021, with a pre-workshop session on October 12. We are excited to reconvene, reconnect, and celebrate the incredible planning work of BC First Nations. This year’s workshop theme is “Planning for Community Wellness and Healing through CCP”, facilitated by Jessie Hemphill.

WHEN will it happen?

October 13, 14, and 15, 2021, from 9:00am to 12:30pm (Pacific Time), with a pre-workshop session on October 12 from 12:00-1:30pm.

WHERE will it be held?

Entirely virtually! The workshop will be held over Zoom and we will also be using Slack to connect outside of Zoom. Check out our website to learn more about the platforms we will be using.

WHO should attend?

  • CCP Coordinators, Planners, Administrators, Youth, Elders, and Leadership

  • If you don’t know who to send this invitation to in your community or organization, please check our communications toolkit for direction

  • Please see the separate invitation for youth participants and circulate it to your community’s youth (attachment)

  • If your community is not currently engaged in CCP, but you are curious about the process, you are welcome to attend!

  • There’s no limit to how many community members can attend. We encourage anyone interested to register and join us for this event

Please note that while the workshop is open to Indigenous planners across Canada, the workshop is BC-focused and participants from First Nations in BC will be prioritized. If you are from an Indigenous group outside of BC, when you register you will be placed on a waitlist. We will contact you no later than 2 weeks before the workshop to confirm your participation.

WHY should we go?

Last year, over 150 people attended each day of the first-ever Virtual CCP Workshop. Many participants shared how important it was for them to gather, connect, sing, drum, and learn together virtually. As the pandemic drags on, gatherings online are an important tool to promote community wellness in CCP processes, starting with the workshop itself.

WHAT will we do?

This year’s CCP Workshop will centre on community healing and wellness, with a number of exciting online sessions and learning events, including plenaries, hands-on skill-building workshops, panels, community stories, and opportunities for connecting with First Nations organizations from across BC.

HOW MUCH does it cost?

The workshop is free to attend. The first 100 registrants from BC First Nations will receive a gift package by mail!

HOW ACCESSIBLE is this event?

We are committed to making the Virtual CCP Workshop as accessible as possible. Please review our Accessibility Statement, let us know what accessibility needs you have in registration, and reach out to Andrea at ccpworkshop@nautsamawt.com if you have any questions.
