Our Gathering 2020

January 21-23, 2020, at the Westin Bayshore Hotel in downtown Vancouver, BC.

OUR GATHERING is a venue for First Nations community leaders and government officials to discuss emerging issues, build relationships, promote partnerships and foster leadership for a sustainable future.

OUR GATHERING is co-hosted by the BC First Nations Leadership Council and the BC Region office of Indigenous Services Canada and the Treaty and Aboriginal Government-Negotiations West office of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada. The event is by invitation only for delegates from all BC First Nations, with two delegates designated by the First Nation eligible for travel support. Travel expenses for any additional participants would be at the cost of the First Nation.

Indigenous Forum for Cumulative Effects

February 3-6, 2020 | Calgary, AB

Hosted by the Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects, the inaugural Indigenous Forum on Cumulative Effects brings together Indigenous communities, thought leaders and relevant Indigenous organizations to explore and discuss strategies to effectively manage the cumulative effects resulting from development and other activities, such as climate change, on their lands, resources and communities.

Shared Territory and Overlaps Forum

March 11 – 13, 2020 | Vancouver, BC

The objective of this meeting is to come together for a solutions-oriented, strategic dialogue on shared territories and overlaps to continue the dialogue and build on work started in March 2014. This work is mandated by resolutions passed by the Chiefs at each of the First Nations Sum, Union of BC Indian Chiefs and BC Assembly of First Nations assemblies.
