Our Gathering 2020

January 21-23, 2020, at the Westin Bayshore Hotel in downtown Vancouver, BC.

OUR GATHERING is a venue for First Nations community leaders and government officials to discuss emerging issues, build relationships, promote partnerships and foster leadership for a sustainable future.

OUR GATHERING is co-hosted by the BC First Nations Leadership Council and the BC Region office of Indigenous Services Canada and the Treaty and Aboriginal Government-Negotiations West office of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada. The event is by invitation only for delegates from all BC First Nations, with two delegates designated by the First Nation eligible for travel support. Travel expenses for any additional participants would be at the cost of the First Nation.

  • Shelter Allowances & the National Shelter Directive (Universal Rental Regimes)

  • ISC’s Reporting Requirements

  • Income Assistance Pre-Employment Supports Pilot Project

  • Dealing with Difficult Clients & Worker Self-Care

Sustainable Infrastructure Workshop

A series of Sustainable Infrastructure Workshops are being delivered this fall following the completion of triennial Asset Condition Reporting System (ACRS) inspections for communities in north-east and central BC. These Sustainable Infrastructure Workshops are an extension of the Asset and Maintenance Management Workshops that the BC Region of Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) has been delivering since 2010 to support annual implementation of the Extended ACRS (E-ACRS).

2019 Comprehensive Community Planning (CCP) Workshop

October 16th -18th, 2019 | Seabird Island Hall, Agassiz, BC

Hosted at Seabird Island Band with support from Indigenous Service Canada, the 2019 Comprehensive Community Planning (CCP) Workshop will be held at Seabird Island Hall in Agassiz, BC, October 16th-18th 2019. The goal of the workshop is to bring people together to share lessons learned and best practices around CCP. First Nation-to-First Nation learning and capacity building are the anchoring principles of this workshop. The workshop theme is “Resilience and Adaptation.” The focus is on exploring how community-based planning enhances community resilience, learning from Nations' resilient pasts to prepare for an uncertain future, and building skills to adapt to the impacts of climate change.
