Indigenous Affairs Information Session on the Environmental Review Process (ERP)

Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) is pleased to announce that it will offer an information session on its Environmental Review Process (ERP) that was developed in response to changes made to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA 2012). This session is specifically oriented towards environmental practitioners; project proponents and land use planners and will include the following information:

 

1. Introduction to the INAC ERP;

2. Discussion on project triggers i.e.: on-reserve vs. off-reserve development;

3. Informational requirements for Environmental Impact Assessments

4. Utilizing the online Integrated Environmental Management System (IEMS);

5. A case study from Osoyoos First Nation – Area 27; and

5. The role of the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).

We would like to invite participants who are involved with the development of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I/II/III) or those who are interested in INACs project management as it relates to CEAA. Space is limited to 30 participants.
