Incident Command System (ICS) – Spill Response, Levels 100 and 200 Regional Training Workshops for BC First Nations 2018

  • Prince Rupert- December 4th - 6th, 2018

  • Victoria - December 10th -12th, 2018

ICS is an internationally accepted incident management system used for the command, control, and coordination of incident management by integrating personnel, equipment, facilities and communications within a common organizational structure. As the lead federal agency to ensure an appropriate response to ship-source oil spills, the Canadian Coast Guard works with other partners to ensure the protection of the marine environment and public safety. Coast Guard is adopting the Incident Command System (ICS) to strengthen and align response efforts amongst key partners to enable a more effective response to not only oil pollution incidents, but also to all-hazard emergency incidents.

This ICS Course (ICS 100 & 200) is designed to enable personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event using the principles of ICS. This training will support First Nations participation in incident response as well as training and exercises.
