AANDC BC Region's New Approach for Housing Support (NAHS) Workshop

Wednesday, September 10th, 2014

The session will build awareness of the NAHS and provide support to communities interested in preparing an application for 2015/16 funding cycle (applications are due October 15th, 2014)

Workshop Objectives

AANDC BC Region's New Approach for Housing Support (NAHS) aims to align AANDC funding in a way that supports First Nations in developing and implementing long-term, viable housing strategies that reflect community needs.

This approach supports 3 separate, but complimentary, “Streams”:

Stream 1:  Planning, Policy Development, Training and Capacity Building

Stream 2:  Multi-year Project

Stream 3:  Lot Development

The 2014/15 fiscal year is the first year of implementing funding for NAHS and preparations for 2015/16 implementation are underway.  This session will provide opportunity to:

  •   Build awareness of objectives and criteria for NAHS

  •   Discuss how NAHS can support your community

  •   Determine your community’s readiness for NAHS

  •   Provide an opportunity for sharing and networking
