Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation ( CMHC) and Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada ( AANDC) invite you to attend a one day symposium exploring alternative housing options including higher density housing, proven implementation strategies of other First Nation communities and mentoring between nations to build capacity in housing management.
The Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council is pleased to announce that representatives from the Center of
Excellence for Matrimonial Real Property (COEMRP) will be in Nanaimo, BC, February 11th and
12th to conduct their excellent two-day MRP Tool-Kit Training Workshop.
Topics will include: the need for Matrimonial Real Property (MRP) law, a model process for MRP
law-making, ratifying your MRP law and understanding the Federal Provisional Rules.

It is envisaged that facilitated workshops with representatives from Finance, Engineering, Public Works, and Council would provide for a good starting point for gaining an understanding of the many issues surrounding asset management in First Nation communities.
First Nations’ ability to govern, plan and manage their lands and resources is complicated and constantly evolving. The need for First Nations to make decisions about their land and resources in the face of development pressures continues to grow.
Pathways to Service Delivery: An Introductory Workshop on Developing and Negotiating Municipal Services Agreements
